More ABOUT JIM
AGAPE TABLE
In 2015 PGA of Canada member, Jim Steep retired after 35 years at Glendale Golf & Country Club as the Head Professional and COO. Jim decided the next chapter of his life would be to continue to grow the game of golf through teaching, and in a bigger way, give back to his community.
While looking for an opportunity to give back, he found Agape Table, a charity in Winnipeg’s inner city. He applied to be on the board and was granted a seat, where he immediately started making a positive impact on the organization. Agape (meaning “unconditional love’) Table’s mission is; “Enhance the lives of those in need by welcoming everyone to our table without judgement or bias”. Finding this home took an enormous amount of creativity to check all of the boxes needed to move Agape forward and continue to serve their guests. Jim then used his innovation to complete the move by overseeing a 5 month construction period putting in a new kitchen, flooring and other amenities to help achieve the goals of this charity going forward.
